The Student Health and Risk Prevention (SHARP) Survey is administered every two years to students, in grades 6, 8, 10, and 12 in Alpine School District, as well as most public and certain charter school districts across Utah. The survey is designed to assess adolescent substance use, anti-social behavior, and the risk and protective factors that predict these adolescent problem behaviors.
The survey results allow us to create programs/strategies and interventions around the survey outcomes. This data is also used for funding opportunities not only in the school district but also throughout community organizations.

According to Utah law, students’ parents must give their permission before the student can participate in the survey. You need to be aware that: (1) Your child’s participation is completely voluntary and confidential. (2) If your child does not participate, they will not be penalized or lose any school benefits to which they are otherwise entitled.
