Hello! My name is. Shiloam Chapman (if you think the Hebrew greeting for hello Shalom, then you've said my first name correctly.) I am not Jewish or speak Hebrew. The name means peace and joy. Clearly, there are names that you don't give your children because they will spend their entire lives contemplating how wrong of a choice that name was for them. So I have spent many years dispelling this quiet-natured, calming person that brings happiness to all. I'm kind of kidding. I'm a fairly easy-going person and like to have fun, but don't get much time to do this as I know responsibilities sometimes outweigh the play side of things.
I have an incredibly kind, self-less husband who lets me chase my whims and I'm glad he is so patient with me. We have four children; two boys and two girls. Our boys are in college: one attending BYU and the other will be attending UofU in the fall. (We have always been a split family.) Our third and fourth children are our girls and one recently graduated high school and will be attending college in the fall, looking at UVU and loving the MTECH CNA program. The other girl will be a sophomore and has loved every minute of driving permit time. We like to travel and last summer we were in France days before the Olympics. This year, we stayed in the states for a family reunion. Our family also believes in serving people and learning about other cultures. Our third child is in Uganda right now and has been to Mongolia and Kenya in previous summers, doing humanitarian trips. Our fourth child has done the same in Texas and West Virginia. Our boys have done other services in Texas and France. We try to teach our children that there are amazing opportunities and people all over the world.
When I am not at school, doing school, tutoring or hanging out with my family, I like to enjoy riding motorcycles when my kids aren't using them. I love the colors blue, white and a dark(er) purple. Something weird about me, I'm partially deaf and blind. I got sick and lost them all within days, maybe a week. I cannot hear out of my left ear or see out of my left peripheral vision. If you are talking to me and you think I am ignoring you, please look at me straight on to make sure I heard what you were trying to tell me. We also have a rescue dog that pretty much thinks he rules our home.
