EVERYDAY VALUES OF NHS

Pillars of Success

Character

Leadership

Service

Scholarship

Character is valuing diverse cultures and building relationships that reflect love of self but also concern for others.

Leadership  is carrying oneself with dignity and taking ownership and responsibility for one’s own actions and participation.

Service is seeking out and engaging in meaningful service. It calls for a service mindset, the desire to seek opportunities to help others as well as acts of service.

Scholarship is a commitment to learning and growing on an educational path. It means making the most of the educational opportunities provided and seeking out learning, not only in school or similar settings, but also personally.

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY

Requirements

Many Honor Society students find their service activities to be among the most rewarding experiences they have as members. Sometimes, these activities awaken an interest or open a door to a new passion. The following are the requirements to be a National Honor Society member.

If you are a senior and complete all chapter requirements for the year, you will receive a certificate AND have the opportunity to purchase a sash because you are graduating.

Have questions? Check out these examples:
-A junior and complete all requirements. You will receive a completion certificate at our closing banquet.
-A senior and complete all requirements. You will receive a completion certificate at our closing banquet AND have the opportunity to purchase a sash.
-Last year you were a junior and completed all requirements for your junior year. As a senior (this year) you are not a member of NHS. Do you have the opportunity to purchase a sash? No, because you did not complete the requirements for this current year.

How do I know if I qualify for a sash?
This information should be shared with you via remind or email. Please be patient as it may take a few weeks. Once you receive a confirmation that you qualify for a sash, you may purchase a sash.

What sashes are available? Where can I purchase/pick them up?
There are both blue and gold sashes available. The gold sash is $26 and the blue sash is $5. This purchase can be made on MySchoolFees or at the finance office after you are notified that you qualify. Sashes should be picked up before or after school from Mrs. Roberts. You must pick your sash up BEFORE graduation day.
